  1. It takes me an hour or so to get from central Queens to my job near City Hall, and that’s only if there’s no subway delays. My wife has about the same commute but she has to go to work in Harlem, and the subway is designed to funnel people from the boroughs downtown, not uptown, so she has to go to Times Square and back track. (Her job is moving to midtown, so her commute will likely be chopped in half… I’m jealous.)
