  1. Between this, Iraq and (South) Vietnam, we genuinely stink at “nation building” and probably should just let the UN and their peacekeeping forces do that job. But no, that won’t feed the Military Industrial Complex… we ignored Eisenhower’s warning to our peril.

  2. Yeah, next time to see a retired General or other officer on TV complaining about this, look up where they work NOW, it’s probably a defense contractor that would continued to profit from this forever war.

  3.  @Dan-fo9dk  yes, and that’s where many of the people coming here illegally are from, not Mexico, but Central American countries overrun by government and police corruption and gangs.
