  1. Unfortunately the sad truth is, the gave renters a break, but not landlords, especially smaller landlords. They still had to pay property taxes, mortgages, etc... and rents were being used to fund those expenses. We may go from an eviction crisis, to a defaults on mortgages crisis that sees all the smaller landlords vanish.
