  1. Most brands moving to China are doing it to cut the cost of importing and shipping the car overseas, for the Asian markets. That savings is passed on to the customers to entice them to buy that brand. (This is why Tesla built a new factory in Shanghai, and repeated this in Germany for the European market.)
