  1. They kind of reversed it two seasons later, but the positronic remnant of Data asking for a death with dignity in Picard season 1 was very sad. He'd always strived to be more human, and there's a lot of humanity in asking that question.

Unfortunately we'll likely never see him in live action, but in the beta cannon (novels and comic books), Sisko returns and so does Odo, but the DS9 gets destroyed and replaced with a Federation design. (Unfortunately the Romulans are able to figure out what happened in "In the Pale Moonlight", and declare war on the Federation for tricking them into fighting the Dominion.)
