  1. Killing off Susan was Julia Louis Dryfuss’s idea, they all had poor comic timing with the actress who played Susan. One day while coming up with ideas with the writers, especially for how to handle George & Susan’s wedding, Julia just blurted out, “Why don’t we just kill her?” So they did. A surprising amount of Seinfeld is based on real life things that happened to the actors and writers, Spike Feresten was the one that met Al Yeganeh, the REAL Soup N*zi, when he worked for David Letterman. When he was work on his very first episode of Seinfeld he was talking about the soup place with Jerry and Larry David, they both went “Write about that, that’s your episode!” Funny thing is once that episode was out, and Spike took Jerry and some other people from Seinfeld to Al’s soup shop, Al put two and two together, tore into all of them and threw them out!
