A sadder fact: Ukraine has the one of largest system of orphanages (Russia is bigger, but Russia is closed to adoptions from most western countries.) All over Ukraine about 100,000 children were waiting for a family… and now thanks to Russias criminal war, these kids are scattered all over the place (and many can’t be moved due to medical issues, many waiting families have no idea when (or if) they will be able to bring their son or daughter home now.
