Shea Stadium sounds great on the tape recorded direct from the stage, but the Beatles couldn’t hear themselves because of all the screaming fans (happened at most of their live gigs), and the crowd really couldn’t hear them... the tech to power the huge sound systems needed for a stadium show just wasn’t available until later that decade (the Grateful Dead notoriously toured with a massive system, which while it sounded incredible, it required many trucks to move, and a lot of set up time that made that tour a money loser.)
