“Where the Streets Have No Name” was Edge’s idea for a big song to play live. It took so long to record that they were supposed to deliver the master tapes to the press plant that morning and worked all night to finalize the song. Edge wanted to add in backup vocals, but he was overruled since they were literally out of time by that point.
