We can PHASE in metric since road signs and other things get replaced on a schedule… start by putting up signage that has both metric and imperial, and then the next generation of signs can be metric only. Most manufacturers already use metric, since they are selling to other nations that use it, and it makes no sense to have 2 sets of tools and machinery! We look like backwards jackasses to the REST OF THE WORLD by ignoring metric! It was odd looking for non-prescription migraine medicine for my wife in Copenhagen, only to be told that we’d have to find an “Apotek”, not what looked like a pharmacy in the US, but a store that ONLY sold medicine. We got some really cool tablets you drop in water like Alka-seltzer… and we wish they sold it here because it WORKED!
