  1. So certain drum breaks got used so much because people would go digging through albums, pull the drum solo or break out and put them together on breakbeat records. Gregory Coleman, the drummer on “Amen, Brother” died homeless. He never got compensation for the THOUSANDS of songs that sampled that 7 seconds of his drumming. (Yes, it was only 7 seconds, looping and cutting the break apart to change it up quickly became a thing as samplers and digital samplers became a thing.)
