  1. I’d throw Star Trek: Deep Space Nine on here. It took the idyllic future of Gene Roddenberry and turned on it’s head. It went into dark places, showed the horrors of war, and the problems of frontier diplomacy since while Starfleet ran the space station, the local planet was not yet a member of the Federation.
