  3. In the Beatles Anthology one of them recounted actually meeting Elvis and going to a house he was staying in, in Los Angeles (not Graceland) where Elvis basically just hung out watching TV with them, then showed off that he could play bass. 🤷‍♂️

  8. Charles became the monarch as soon as his mother passed, being crowned in church is purely ceremonial. There is no gap between monarchs outside of a Regency period. (Say Charles passes in 5 years, but William has died, George is too young, so a Regent must rule until he’s 18 years old.)

  41.  @DarDarBinks1986  Vikings didn’t have the logistic capacity to maintain colonies past Iceland, their two villages on Greenland failed (quite horribly: read Jared Diamond’s book”Collapse”) because they came in a warmer year and didn’t realize just how cold it could get until they were starving and desperate over a very long winter.

You can’t make this stuff up... but Smith sure did!

  49. Las Vegas means “the meadow” in Spanish... yeah... no meadows there now. Edit: Hughes eventually moved out of the Desert Inn... he had taken over the entire top floor, secretly installed an express elevator from outside to that floor (that was problematic during the demolition of that resort as it wasn’t on the blueprints!), and apparently never opened any of the drapes as the window facing side of them were bleached white by the sun.
