May be hard to find, but Henry Rollins has a spoken word/comedy story about the first time his band went to post-Soviet Moscow to play a show, and the hotel/casino offered them all a big dinner, but the food was terrible and none of them ate much of it. When it was time to go back, the band didn’t want to, but he insisted, they went to a better hotel and got more edible western style food. He asked the promoter why they got terrible food the first time around and he was told, “Someone told us you wanted to try traditional Russian food.” 🤦‍♂️
