That was sadly rare, and many who returned from those camps found their homes, businesses, and any property they couldn’t take with them or leave with someone were sold off to non-Asians. We did those people dirty, all because of racist thinking that their loyalty wasn’t with America solely because they were of Japanese decent.

Switched from the cassia cinnamon to Ceylon cinnamon a few years ago (the ground kind as I don’t have much use for whole quills) it definitely smells better and has a more complex flavor than the cheaper cassia.

@Spangletiger mostly on the east coast, and not as extreme as moving them all inland, Ellis island was an internment camp.

Funny, the F-35 came from a program that was supposed to build a CHEAPER plane than the F-22… Honestly, Congress just keeps giving the Department of Defense blank checks, they just did last year (I think it was $25 billion), and the Pentagon admitted, “We don’t know why you’re giving us this money!”

Funny, I never tried “bacon” until I went vegan, simply because my family was never into breakfast meats.

One of the toxic chemicals from leather tanning is Chromium. There are some companies (both real and vegan) that refuse to buy their leather from places that use this stuff.

I refuse to wear anything that’s not cotton or mostly cotton… and it’s been getting harder to find. You tell me to wear polyester and I say, “But I’m not playing baseball!”

Ideally, companies would be partially responsible for the cost of recycling their plastics, certain plastics (1 (Polyethylene Terephtalate) and 2 (High Density Polyethylene)) are more valuable and easier/cheaper to recycle than others. This would push companies to use more easily recyclable plastics to keep their costs down. So many times I’ve looked at the bottom of something and see that it’s a number 5 (Polypropylene)instead of a 1 or a 2, especially clear cold drink cups from places like Starbucks. Yes, you can buy a reusable cup, but if you’re ordering delivery that’s not an option. (Polystyrene is number 6.)

Why not make the blades out of something that lasts a lot longer than 8 years?

I didn’t horde, thought “that’s the dumbest thing to horde” come the time I actually needed to buy more... nothing on shelves.... ended up finding a 4 pack of cheap store brand stuff... then a bigger pack of brand x after that ran low at home... I think sandpaper would have been a better option. Finding my brand again after months... manna from heaven.

Oh, and can you bring me a spare roll...?

We should copy Singapore, they’ve been using their waste-to-energy leftover ash to build new islands.

11 Mr. Howells? They’d be dead in a week.

So does machine pressing add in too much heat which alters the oil? Have they tried cold press methods? Otherwise, pay the ladies more than just “below the local minimum.”
