...and as the series “Picard” showed, Commander Maddox did end up with B-4, a prototype of Data, which he did disassemble and copy into a slave race of “synths” who, being much more basic than Data, were hacked by... someone... and ended up destroying Mars and the orbiting shipyards so badly that the planet was still on fire 10 years later. Whoops!
