Once had some kind of damage done to my right ear from being stuck next to the sound system at an indoor concert that wound up being louder than I expected. Headphones were fine, but everything else was muffled. It took months but one day my ear popped and normal sound came back. It was actually long enough that it felt weird hearing from both ears for a while.
