  3. Considering they put a bunch of people on trains and took them east, deep into Russia (no one knows exactly where), “let them go” begs the question: where? Into Ukraine, or as hostages inside Russia?

China sees an opportunity to come out on top while Russia grows weaker, and the USA’s role on the world stage diminishes because we may be headed for internal conflict due to our ever deepening political divide (aka the 2024 election could be akin to the 1860 election where a bunch of states vowed to secede and form their own country if their preferred candidate didn’t win the White House. Lincoln won instead and we had the worst war our nation ever had (the combined total of dead from both armies (we count them all as Americans as sometimes brother fought brother) has never been surpassed in any other conflict, even WW2).

  5. @Gary Li it’s BOTH parties… and the 24/7 media that crave dividing us up along arbitrary lines “you support this, so you must be GOP, you support that so you must be Democrat” forcing all issues to be only two sided with no room for moderates. The political middle has vanished in the US since around 2000 when the GOP gained control of Congress with Bush in the White House and they basically decided, “we’re in charge, don’t need to work with the other party anymore.” And that continues even after they lost Congress a few times. (Though that might go back farther to Newt Gingrich deciding he wasn’t willing to work with Clinton.)

  10.  @haloman2  I honestly feel like NATO was jerking Ukraine around (maybe they were waiting for the conflict in the East to resolve?), so Ukraine really could not give Russia a solid answer.
