  1. Near my parents house in Bensonhurst Brooklyn is an old church that dates back to the colonial period. Once a year they have a Revolutionary war festival with people in costume and they fire off a small portable cannon with only a 1/4 of the powder it would use to fire a cannonball. My parents live a few blocks away, and it still shakes their house. In fact it’s loud enough to be heard for quite a distance! We always would joke that the pharmacy across the street was under siege. 😂
