@joy5976 It's only selfish when you force another person to kill you. That is selfish because you've not only taken your own life but you destroyed another in the process. What that kid did to this man was wrong on so many levels.

I feel for you. Something very similar happened to me some years ago. Some young and dumb kid was speeding on his motorcycle and cut two vehicles illegally where the road curved and he never saw me coming until it was too late. Drove right into my damn lane. Never saw the poor bastard until impact. He was launched twenty yards behind me and he hit me so hard that my wrist fractured and even got a 25k from my insurance because he didn't have any. The bike wasn't even registered to him. After the investigation, I went to pick up my stuff from my totalled vehicle and as I walked past the kids mangled bike, I nearly broke down in tears, fortunately the detective who escorted me told me not to blame myself, that the kid had a death wish and there was absolutely nothing that could have done to prevent his death. It helped a little but it didn't fully stop the guilt. I was just at the wrong place, at the wrong time. It just happened to be me. If only I had waited a few more seconds before I took a right from the coffee shop, he'd still be around, or maybe that would've just delayed the inevitable. Whatever innocence I had left died that day and I still cry about it from time to time. Anyway, I hope this helps. Just remember that you're not alone. We all go through it. Shit like this happens all the time and there is nothing that anyone can do to change it. It's always going to be like this. I wish you a speedy recovery and peace. 🙏

@TheSouthIsHot I have more of a reason to off myself more than most but I still choose to live. I don't believe that suicide is selfishness but for those who commit to the need to realize that instead of getting help, they take the easy way out and hurt their loved ones in the process. In a way that is being selfish.

@mishi144 Personally, I don't think he cared. Also, I am sorry for your loss. Sometimes you can't help people who are like that. Sometimes you just have to let them go.
