  1. They see it differently due to their ideology which is still marxist-leninist in it's core. Marx formulated that the value itself comes from work, but not necessarily from work per se, but from the work considered useful by the society. Lenin on his part reformulated Marx's idea of "dictatorship of proletariat" from simple idea of control by the proletariat of the means of production into unlimited violence towards capitalists. While one might still argue that in some way we can still find a way to define value politically (maybe some new permutation of Marx's idea but without social classes a their power struggle) I don't think that there is still place on this planet for lenin. For them not having control over technology or Taiwan means just limitation set by capitalists. For them our lives are just an obstacle to increase their "value". Leninists see the world only from the lens of control (maybe extreme version of Hobbes). On the last economic forum putin himself was saying it directly that the value can't be defined by private banks and that they are under control of the same western capitalist group. For them liberal markets and private banks are just a tactic of gaining control over their economy. It starts from control of every individual and ends up in the control over states and other markets. Their propaganda works in the opposite way to american - you end up stuck in the inaction, you can only do what is deemed good by the state, while in the us you think that the choices that you make are really yours.
