  2. Maybe that CEO was reffering that they already sold 4000 of diesel electric locomotives ready to be upgraded with their molten salt batteries. It doesn´t appear to me as crazy to even attach an extra carriage with the battery to save energy on recuperative braking. The main problem with it from what I see is not the molten salt battery itself, but rather not enough customers who will benefit significantly enough from such a system, since in most cases rail is already electrified (at least what I can assume from general knowledge).
