for What exactly? ...

@Doc1855 I thought he is a Christian and not a Muslim?

@61espo I am a Yankees fan also! from middle USA ... i certainly hope you are accurate about that Guaranteed, did you personally inspect everything done on your vehicle. My Tacoma is 20 years older than yours LOL! my drive to the car nut shop is 8 hours one way and now we have to take it back 8 hours after he had it in the shop for 12 weeks
4
@61espo when i dropped the truck off the shop was 2 weeks behind with other vehicles so there was a wait to get it all started. Then the holiday break and brutal winter temperatures. it was a number of 'small repairs & new parts maintenance that i could not DIY in my driveway... replacing 26+ year old parts with brand new OEM parts (very pricey genuine parts that Fit Right the First Time) which included power steering rack that was leaking after 300k miles, suspension control arms (i think the rubber bushings were shot from age and seized)_ truck also needed a new clutch finally for the manual transmission, speedometer cable. Total cost after everything (not including travel costs) was more than $7000 ... I do not readily trust local-to-me Toyota shops (nor independent shops for that matter) after many sloppy hack jobs they did with my old truck that i have had since brand new for almost 27 years now. I've spent 2 years watching The Car Nut videos and came to the conclusion that he would be the best to handle this task from his experience and the appearance of being very fastidious (just like i am personally) paying attention to every little detail... now I have to make the long days journey back to the shop after inspecting what all was done

what part of Missouri? i have family in the central part and go to KCMO StJoe Hannibal and St Louis often in this Tacoma pickUp
3
@61espo it is sorta humorous!?
3
i need even more future routine maintenance done at the car nut shop... valve cover gaskets (starting to weep again after dealership did them 5 years ago) valve clearances checked for proper specs, + a new timing belt and possibly the water pump as well
3
@61espo i hope you do as well (get the same high mileage!) the truck has been mostly a freeway longer distance work and road trips, NO short trips if it can be helped, i have a now-beater 96 Corolla (137k miles all-stop and-go city) for the in-town grocery getter type of trips, the winter roadsalts have done damage to it unfortunately with a rotted fuel tank and fuel lines, i don't care about all the rotted body panels, doors and rockers because it is a very low maintenance grocery getter LOL
3
that totally Sucks about the Bimbo wrecking your rig 8^{
2
@HorsepoweredRims does that stuff work? i have used Meguires polish stuff... lasted a couple years
2
automatic or manual transmission?
2
you need to drive that thing More! Taco's Love Miles!
2
plus one that is NOT a garage queen with ultra-low miles onit
2
I have seen other black Gen1 Tacoma with the brownish interior and would agree with you
2
the engine and transmission were sourced imported from Japan as far as i recall
2
@rightlanehog3151 that is so very true!
2
manual or automatic?
2
@moloono1 you never have a pilot bearing issue such as this 97 rig had?
2
@brkbtjunkie Wow! that must have been frightful
2
+2
2
12:51 ... rear subframe looks sweet !
2
most likely not, that engine afaik was only in the T100 truck, T4R and Tacoma
2
I also have a '96 Corolla for the in-town short grocery getter type heavy stop-and-go city. the winter salt monster has done a number onit
2
it is a definite Shame that the regular small Single Cabs are gone since 2o15 and the last Gen2... those are the best little trucks for tooling around town
2
very NiCE!
2
does this happen on Cold Starts OR re-starting after its all warmed up, such as after you fill up with some fresh tacoJuice at the pumps
2
@subtegral I have read somewhere that the RED paint Toyota used then was a single-stage paint and is not good in the sun at all
2
@subtegral LMAO
2
until a pilot bearing fails or starts failing, and not-a-pro-has-a-CLUE what is going on everything appears to be in good working order 8^{
2
why is that?
2
@watkikel Gen2s have MUCH LESS wind engine and other road noise compared to the Gen1 at higher speeds in my comparisons
2
@61espo why Guaranteed?
2
@DZE457 LOL!
2
@61espo that comment was in reference to the comment that poster Doc1855 made and directed to them here is what they said.. "We all have to learn, did the mechanic 26 hours away. It’s your money, but I certainly wouldn’t drive that far for a mechanic, especially someone whose religion says to cut my head off if I don’t believe like them. That religion takes away the rights of people, which is Opposite of the Bible" perhaps i was reading too much into that comment?
2
@njsongwriter LMAO
2
billbob! that would be Fantastic!! to see a quarter-century-old Supra/Corvette/Jag/Ferrari with over 1/3rd million miles that is not a garage queen and has spent its entire existence in the salt belt with proven miles on salt-laden roads. It would be Fantastic to see that! do any like that you know of exist out there? ... I have seen a late 1980s MR2 that has done battle with the winter salt monster in Indiana with that many miles but it is a bit rough around the edges ....still was running well last time i saw it
2
@markkus1134 Cosmoline? i think that is amber in colour or comes in black
2
@subtegral NO LOWBALLING, I know whut i got LOL
2
22,000 miles per year average
2
be careful very careful...
2
stay Away from that vehicle!
2
Most are just 'parts changers'
2
check the video archives, he had a t100 with a clutch issue almost 2 years ago
2
@midwestrustwarrior how do you get that FF stuff to stick in the highwash wheel house openings? it always washed right off for me every time i had to wheel it in the heavy Iowa rain
2
that is a Gen2 Tacoma isn't it? i have yet to see a Gen1 get a reported million miles. there is a guy in Denver with a white '97 5VZFE v6 4wd that has over 750k miles!
2
some say it is 'worth' near ZERO
2
NiCE!
1
@subtegral mine does not blow out anywhere near that cold anymore, it used to LOL ... i think i have a dirty evaporator coil since there is NO cabin filter to block the dirty nature from coming in through the fresh air vent
1
that so Totally Sucks about your Taco getting hit by a distracted driver
1
it may or may not last +300k, it likely depends on your driving habits. excessive city stop-and-go traffic might wear the material down much faster than keeping it in 5th gear on the freeway or tollway for extended periods.... the pilot bearing, on the other hand, is a true mystery if it is mileage dependent? or time dependent? or some other unknown factor
