  20. @ManaBlack208  well lock them up and don't let them disrupt those that want to lead a good life, it's worth trying to engage and help people see alternatives I was in cyfs custody from 12 years old, in YJ and later prison a few times, I was a troublesome kid and I didn't want to change but by the time I reached 21 I was sick of the whole process of court, jail etc and decided to focus on what makes me happy, The law and punishment is too soft on criminals and needs to get more serious, some people need direction in life and can't be responsible for themselves so need to be taught the right way, otherwise sit in a cell by themselves

  22. @ManaBlack208  I don't think that but many do, I clearly said "some people"..not I Some people come from broken homes and don't have food, shelter or caring families, just neglect and abuse so prison cam be a better life for some people. Not myself once again, I'm speaking for people I know from prison etc that have told me this. I have seen it happen to many people, mostly maori and parents are alcoholics and addicts and don't teach their kids any life skills. I grew up broke but my parents cared for me amd taught me morals and respect, I only stole to get things I couldn't afford, but one day I made some smarter choices and don't have to do crime to get what I want now. We need to educate criminals and re train them so they know how to live a better life
