@bryanl4626 Jackson Mississippi? Jackson Wyoming?
What's the poverty rate in the town?
Because Boise Idaho also, has low crime rates.
But it also has a lot of millionaires per Capita, a solid education system, the population density isn't as bad as LA New York, Chicago, or Phoenix. They're homeless population is primarily people who live the camping lifestyle so they aren't really seen in the city.
But, as Boise continues to grow, and the more disperity that takes place, crime rates have been increasing as people have become more and more desperate over the last few years.
Can you also provide the rate of poverty for your area, and how that has fluctuated over the last ten years? What is minimum wage vs the average rent? Is it a high traffic city that is a hub between many destinations and therefore has a lot of traveling in it? Because that effects crime as well, the amount of tourism and travel in an area.
I wonder if you considered any of these factors before deciding to post.

@TheMrVerified what baffles me is how many of these types have adopted the "alpha male" personality.
In the wild, species who feel a constant need to protect, feel threatened and need defense strategies, who measure success by showing off, fight one another for mating rights, and are quick to put down others for "masculinity" or a lack there of, are sheep, elk, deer, you know, grazing animals and herbivors.
Wolves, operate in familial hierarchies as a pack. Not alpha hierarchies like most tend to believe. And often times, the elder female is the most respected member of a wolf pack.
Bears and tigers operate under the notion of territory and respect.
And in lion prides there are often 2-3 males who share roles and responsibilities.
The misconception is when young, adolescent carnivores go out to make a pack or a pride, or try to find territory for themselves.
It's less about hierarchies, and more about age, respect, family, and species dynamics.
The animals in nature that most resemble the "alpha male" as seen by western society and media, are all grazing animals.
