@freedommeow I think the creator purposely doesn't use modern names because he hopes we are intelligent enough to make the comparisons to today's times. All you have to do, is see who has a furvered belief that they are the only answer to our problems, and that only they have the solutions. You can further notice their totalitarian ideals by their willingness to consolidate rule, to one party or leader, turning the opposition into useless talking heads trying to refute this one mindset and one person being propped up as the definitive answer or solution to the problems we are facing. Now, if we look at the Salem witch trials, (which is the only real case of a totalitarianism mind set in America) we can determine that the main cause of the mentality, stems from fear, and a longingness to control that which they don't understand. If you happened to miss the accompanying videos, it's always marked by anti-discovery, anti-science and fact, and instead pro conspiracy, pro division, and an idea that only one leader can save us. To me it's obvious. Only one political party in America is trying to rally their platform around one man's ideas.

@freedommeow you wanna know why the Spartans could never get beyond Athens? Because while they where great fighters, they had a shit society and no sustainable strategy over long distances. Ultimately, they where a failure, and couldn't achieve what the rest of the world could beyond swinging a sword better than anyone else. Like, if Sparta was so great, why did Macadonia do everything Sparta couldn't?

@freedommeow it doesn't change that Orwell was a socialist and he would have seen the mentality surrounding Trump and his supporters through that lense. I find it hard to believe that a socialist from America's golden era would be in support of a man wanting to consolidate all of their parties views under his platform and cause. It's always identified when multiple views and voices, are seen as a threat, so they cling onto the one demigogic view, because it has been sold as a means to salvation. But the truth is, a demigog has never brought about salvation. All you have to do, is figure out who is trying to consolidate power under one movement within their party.

@runtoth3abyss the primaries are a laughing stock. Half of the time you're not even allowed to vote in them, then when you do get to, it's only for a republican or democrat and they both drop candidates like flys if it doesn't fit their cult of personality.

@runtoth3abyss maybe you should re read some of that stuff you forgot in civics class. You know, like centrist sway, and why consolidating power under one leader or one movement within a party is a bad thing. It's like all of you either didn't watch the other videos this channel produced, or your dileberately ignoring obvious warning signs because you're hell bent on blaming everything on the Democrats.

@runtoth3abyss no it isn't actually if you looked at the accompanying videos that this channel has been producing they deliberately don't mention names because they hope that people are intelligent enough to realize what's going on within our own country. The difference is a lot of liberals and Democrats don't pay attention to these types of videos because they already understand what is going on and have been trying to get people to understand this. The commenters on these videos are laughable to me because they're eating up everything that this guy's saying without even realizing that they are the largest offenders of it. It's hilarious to me that they are so unaware of themselves, that they would even misuse educational material such as this to call Democrats bad. Everything in these videos is practically screaming "Trump is a totalitarian threat" yet they are so fickle and blind, that they will use any information to make themselves feel good. Even if it's perverting years of psychological research to project their totalitarian ideals onto another party. Like I said before, there is a reason the creator of these videos doesn't use modern names. It's on purpose to see who is adopting the "us vs them" mentality, and it appears to be both of you. Obviously the Republicans are more guilty of this, since they are ligitimatly trying to rally their party under one leader and one ideal. They've become so self serving, that there isn't even room for views outside of Q within their own party anymore. It's gotten to where they are that rediculous and closed off that you can practically spell it out for them, and they'd still try to blame the Democrats, as you have witnessed by looking at the comments on these videos.

@runtoth3abyss there's plenty of opportunities that could talk about it in either way for or against Republicans Or democrats. The difference is Democrats aren't grasping at anything they can to try and prove themselves.

@Joe Green do you know what separates a protest from a riot from an attempted coup? It's what the outcome would be if the said protesters, rioters, or coup conspirators got their way, and the intention behind the actions. And yes, they did give them up, they believe in following the law, and enforcement officials. Unless those law and enforcement officials happen to be in the way. That's about as hypocritical as you can get. They did the recounts, they tallied the numbers and nothing changed the outcome. Repeating the same lie over and over doesn't change the outcome. If you don't like that, I don't care, go pound sand ya fucking baby. You didn't disappoint in saying the line again. Go on and say it one more time for me huh? 🤣

They don't blame the Chiefs, demand a piss test for everyone, and try to sabotage their practice field just because they lost. Even if their was a contraversy. @freedommeow that's a very good bullshit if I've ever heard one. Yes freedom, diversity, liberty, and a few others was the full promise. You almost had me going. Freedom, or otherwise, our founding fathers still believed in scientific advancement and where so appalled by British nationalism that we decided to form our own country. Only to turn around years later and have a bunch of people crazier than the Salem witch hunters, and bringing back dead Victorian values. The idea of freedom can only be preserved by those who are safe enough to be free. In other words, you are not actually free if you have to live in fear. Now to follow that up I say remember Isiah 45 7. "I form the light and create darkness: I make peace and create evil: I the Lord do all these things." I think all of these q anon supporters missed this nugget of info from the bible, or at least are purposefully glossing over it. The truth is, if Trump was president he would have been briefed on the dangers of the coronavirus. He would have known it's potential threat beforehand. Months before it reached us shores, Trump decided to try to gut the CDC pandemic response program, almost ensuring we'd have to have longer quarantine times, and mandates, due to misinformation. You want to understand how "plandemic" worked? Take a look at the organizations actions right before Coronavirus hit us shores. Now look at what has happened since. Yes, the furvered belief in Trump as a savior of the land has only grown since then. His followers increasingly finding flaw with the foundation of our nation, the same foundation they say they hold sacred to the same nation. I guess when you only have room for one line of thought within a party, it gets very difficult to even breathe a different opinion for fear of being ostracized by a big orange man. Like I said before. If you want to understand who the totalitarian is, then ask yourself who is trying to consolidate their parties power under one leader, or one idea? Because the Democrats are made up of several causes and ideas, and have a plethora of voices that come from within. What differing voices and opinions do the Republicans have right now? Because it seems to me, that they are dileberately sperating themselves from anything but q.

@a.p.5429 there was a Christian influence. But it was more the classic good sumeritan style of thought. Jesus told us to take up his cross and follow his footsteps. Not turn into fit throwing babies because you can't make fun of gays anymore. And it wasn't so much about honoring God, it had to do with the influence the church had on England's politics and visa versa, and how we where trying to get away from all of that. We wanted to be a nation independent from other countries ideas and beliefs. Which is why the separation of church and state was so revolutionary, since it both protected the sanctity of religion, and the civil treatment of our people without giving to much creedance to religious lore in politics. This way you couldn't have a ruler try to declare themselves a "savior" and use their position to modify Christian values for his own agenda. (Like English kings and queens did all the time). Or make nonsense rules that only make sense to Christians with an axe to grind. But of course none of that stopped the religious nutters from turning the town of Salem into one of America's most notorious locations, and giving us an excellent example in early America, of exactly that happening. Religion made policy, and leaders manipulating faith to justify state action. And now, we've seemed to forgotten all about that part of history, and people don't see the irony of bringing back dead conservative English values to modern America.

@freedommeow Maslow's hierarchy of needs begs to differ with you. It's only when one has found shelter, that they can attain self actualization. Now, shelter can take many forms, in many places, you can even find it on a battle field, but one of it's defining characteristics is safety. In human history we have had to rely on strength in numbers to survive, being social animals, we litterally need interaction to sustain ourselves.

@freedommeow Or, let us not forget the classic saying, "no man is an island." Sure, any individual must be able to do certain tasks themselves, but it is our numbers that make us strong as a species, and learning to interact with one another in productive ways, only does more good for us.

@freedommeow it's because they where able to find strength in numbers. And a lot of those ancient societies the best sower was the one who made clothes forever while the best hunters were out hunting in the best gathers were out gathering yeah they all knew how to do those things but they weren't so foolish to have people do them that were bad at it. It's about interdependence, not codependency or independence.

@freedommeow yes and no, everyone also has limits. If you believe we are limitless beings then you are correct. But we are not. The truth is we are very finite with a limited set of skills and know how, and that even varies from person to person. At the end of the day if you want to do the right thing if you want to be a good person then it's your responsibility to actually do the right thing. Not just say it but to actually live the promise. And it seems like you're on the same page as me and that you don't trust Republicans Or democrats because of what they've become in this country, but up the root of the argument we see that it is in human nature to try and help society thrive. And when societies thrive they let ideas compete with one another so that the best ones can find their place among people. It is only when people decide to make their ideals more important than anyone else's that that doesn't or can't happen.

@freedommeow and also this is the reason why I always use the Norse as my example instead of them or Vikings. Because the Norse were just as feared of fighters as Spartans and Vikings except they had actual values and standards as people. And Viking, was actually a verb, it was something you did. And it wasn't pretty. Plus, even then they raided one another and traded slaves. But they were also a people that were ahead of their time culturally and technologically. And they were one of the first people to introduce quarantine practices and to actually advance medicine in a lot of ways for Europe at the time. They were the opposite of Spartans in a lot of ways culturally but they were still just as fearsome.

@freedommeow plus the Spartans where huge opponents of what America was built on. The promise of freedom. Their society was strictly hierarchical, and anyone who wasn't a soldier was pretty much a slave.

@freedommeow plus if you remember actual history, Sparta never developed beyond that, meanwhile Alexander of Macedonia not only outdid the Spartans in combat, but after doing so freed their slaves, and went on to conquer the Persian empire, and did it while spreading freedom and the idea of a Republic. In comparison Sparta is barely noticeable to cultural history, and a footnote in military history. And furthermore, the Persians they fought against, where the founders of a code of conduct for wartime, treated prisoners of war well, offered tribute to nations they conquered, and freed slaves of foreign nations.

@freedommeow and I think you misunderstood the point I was getting at. Of course I would rather be surrounded by competent men. Anyone would. The point is, even then you have to understand their strengths and weaknesses, be able to figure out strategies and logistics, and have a sustainable plan for a fight. The Spartans where fools in that, they only focused on strength in combat, and when brute force failed them, their backs where up against the wall. It's not enough to have a competent army, you must also know their strengths and weaknesses. You must also be able to provide for them and make them feel welcome in their ranks. So to answer your question, yes. But it wouldn't come from Sparta. For that era and location, I'd feel much better as a Macadonian.

@freedommeow and that's kind of the point. None of us have the answers. This is a hard thing to talk about. We do need to listen to other views other than the ones we already like and appreciate. It's only by adding information understanding and perspective that you can come to a better answer than generations before us. But if you refuse to do that then we're not coming up with any answers so much as we're trying to start again from square One. If answers where that easy to come up with, then anyone could lead. But they're not, so the honest thing any one person can do is admit they don't have all the answers and to be open to other ideas. Anyone who says otherwise, is probably a liar and a cheat.

@freedommeow well, one can make that point that a sick mind is indicative of a sick society, or visa versa. Avoiding danger of making an either or comparison, I'd wager both are equally important. But what we are seeing in America now, is a far cry from being able to find personal meaning and self actualization. We have to meet society where it's at, not where we want it to be. The same is true for individual development.

@freedommeow a lot of these ideals come from the notion that somehow we can correct attributes of ourselves and become what's known in Niches philosophy as ubbermen or the best possible version of yourself. Only problem is what is "good" or "best" changes from culture to culture, era to era, even from person to person. The point I'm ultimately making, is that the world will continue with or without me. The only thing I can do, is constantly second guess if I'm doing the right thing and make adjustments as new information comes in.

@freedommeow as a matter of fact, facing societies problems has been one of the largest motivations for some of historys greatest people. Ghandi wouldn't be ghandi if he didn't have the motivation to end the conflicts in his country. Jesus died for our sins, mother Theresa was a hero to many. But only because they understood the impact of societies downfalls, and where open and aware enough to help those around in need. And they where extraordinary people who gave herculean efforts

@freedommeow also, remember Isiah 45 7. The Lord creates the darkness and the light, it is from him all things are possible. It's not some indefinite progress and kindness, it's everything. Remember, Jesus taught us to be aware of what step to take. To question actions of men and ourselves, but not be hesitant to act upon what we feel is right. It's like not being afraid to make a mistake while acting upon doing the right thing, because the mistake only helps us learn. But if we don't evaluate ourselves afterwards, and we don't face our mistakes, then what has been learned? This is also why the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Good intentions are great, but they don't mean anything if you don't learn from your mistakes and evaluate how to do better in life. You can actually do great harm if you act without first understanding what it is you are doing or getting into. Not out of fear but love of course. And the reason why we love that which we identify as bad or evil? Is because all that is bad and evil is still given to us by God. And the righteous man loves his enimes enough to deliver justice. A pious man never needs proof to believe, but he still has to work for the blessings that he recieves.

@freedommeow let me put it this way if you want a flower to blossom you need two things. First you must understand what makes that particular flower grow. What environment does it need to thrive. Is it in danger of being over or underwatered? What temperature does it prefer? But you must also respect it enough to want to follow through with that plan. Otherwise all of the understanding in the world can't help you bring that flower to bloom. Same is true if you respect it but do not understand what conditions it needs. It takes both. Trying to focus on one or the other, just gives you an incomplete picture.

@freedommeow also in marshal arts, you have to understand what your own abilities are. If you are unsuccessful with a particular move or style, it could just not be for you and you must try something else. If you only listen to yourself, you can definitely frustrate yourself trying to achieve something that just isn't in the cards. It's a matter of being wise enough to know when to look inward, and when to seek advice.

@freedommeow this is where the concept of balance comes in, because both are equally important, and must be worked on simultaneously. It's like, when you have an underdeveloped arm muscle. You don't stop exercising your right arm so the left can catch up. You set the weight at what the left can handle, and slowly build it up to the right, all the while toning and conditioning both arms. Otherwise it turns into a see-saw of overcorrection.
