I mean, it is so true, the leaders, and those who are on top, literaly lost sigth of reality, reality no longer exist, they literaly like you said, and in the novel 1984, they want history to stop, so they can rule forever, no past or present, is like there is nothing, no past no future, we see the world, look europe, a hughe economical recession is coming, there is energy and food shortage and it will get worst, what the leaders do, instead of trying to open more power plants and increase food production, no lets get rid of farmers, lets get rid of nucelar power plants, let make getting oil and dissel worst, is like a total disconection of reality, we are at the point these rich and elite beleive that if they crash economie and society, that they destroy the fundomental of that society everithing will go on
