As someone that live the 90s and has watch anime, cartoons, play videogames, i also beleive these was funny and sad at the same time, these sexy is not, i have even see these in the same anime were characters have act like lobotomize seals, and applad and demand more and if you dare to criticise, even like me have watch anime or play videogames since before become popular you know nothing. Also another thing, before anime become mainstream, yes. it have dumb funny stuff, but they explore mature ideas, or explore different aproachs to very mature topics. Then it become popular and mainstream and now attract people that only want to consume product, and sometimes i ask, is these what is getting old, seen things you like twist and die
