In September 2018 Lviv Oblast Council introduced a ban on the public use of the Russian-language cultural products (movies, books, songs, etc.). Ukraine banned 19 million Russian books. Ukraine banned the activities of religious organizations affiliated with the Russian Orthodox churches.
