He correctly said that it didn't only affect old people, but young people too and that it's an airborne virus. To the Press he told everyone that it was no big deal. It would go away on it's own. He deliberately played it down. A lot of his supporters have been defending him from that accusation since then. This recording proves those accusations correct. There's no gap to bridge. He lied to the public.
