@dragonk1ller Russia was not planning to move westwards, NATO moved eastwards and wanted to threaten them from their border. Now EU and Ukraine are paying the price for that folly.

@crazyson6153 Germany is a sovereign nation and it is therefore their right to do what is best for themselves, and not what is best for America. America benefits by selling its arms; that was their aim in NATO expansion. In 2008, Germany and France had opposed NATO expansion to Ukraine fearing it would lead to war (correctly). But the US bullied them into submission. Germany has every right to say wrong NATO polices forced by the US brought this solution and only a negotiated solution with Russia is possible. Germany and France want a negotiated solution; so does Zelensky; but the US blocks it. China, India and others are not listening to US sanctions. They act like sovereign nations. It is time the European nations got the spine to ask America to back off. Germany should not have agreed to close Nordstream 2. It needs to stand up to the US. If the German economy goes down, the whole of Europe goes down. They subsidise all the scroungers in Eastern Europe like Poland.

@williamzk9083 Sounds loft and self laudatory. When Ukraine became independent directly from the Soviet Union, it was under the condition that it would not join any military alliance. This was put in its constitution. However after the 2014 Euromaidan coup instigated by the US, it put into its constitution that it will seek NATO entry. Hence, it has reneged on a written document that it guaranteed and so Russia is right to take action. Further, NATO is an anti-Russian alliance and has become an existential threat to Russia.

Your western mind is twisted. Have you forgotten that the war was caused in the first place by NATO's eastwards expansion ? The Russians are checking that. As for Russian oil and gas, I thought sanctions were put and Russia is on its knees.

@charliecan9603 Indeed, Russia did everything possible to avoid this military operation. But the western narrative repeated by their media and politicians over and over is that it was an 'entirely unprovoked attack on a sovereign nation and it is against the rules based international order'. This is therefore believed by the majority, and only a few have looked at the history, and NATO's deceptions and one sided expansions, and the US staging a coup to bring its proteges to power in Ukraine.

@robertschwarz3076 To end the war, ask Zelensky to negotiate, instead of pumping him up with weapons and giving him false hopes. The west has to swallow its false pride and accept there is no choice but to negotiate with Putin.

@crazyson6153 Germany should have been more powerful and not agreed to close Nordstream 2. In 2008, Germany and France opposed NATO entry for Ukraine fearing it would lead to war. The US arm twisted them to accept. European countries are subservient to the US.
