  2. The talk about Russia's use of tactical nuclear weapons came after the French said they will send troops, and the British said Ukrainians will hit Russia with their missiles. The British and French ambassadors were called and told in no uncertain terms that British and French targets inside and outside their countries will be hit and Russia was ready for a nuclear strike if necessary. If red lines are crossed that require Russia to use its nuclear doctrine, it will use it. Russia does not bluff. Soon enough, Cameron pulled down his tweet about hitting Russia with British missile and the British media stopped talking about hitting the Kerch bridge (now they say it is not used for military supplies !). And the French made amends and sent an envoy to attend Putin's inauguration, along with 7 EU countries ! Russia is winning in Ukraine without nuclear weapons, but it dangles it judiciously when needed on western heads. Russia is always one step ahead, and always resolute. The west is completely at sea. It is burning with rage, but is completely impotent. Russia is mightier than the collective west and the rest of the world can see it. The west needs an off-ramp but there is none.

  3. Russia is not bluffing. It does not believe in strategic ambiguity. If you cross a Russian red line, and that requires use of nuclear weapons according to their doctrine, they will do it. The decision has already been taken.
