Russia should go round the west. Concentrate on creating a non-dollar system of trade. It is a long term game. Create an alternative to Swift, use yuan, or other national currencies, expand trade foot print to Gulf states and Africa and Latin America.

NATO said they gave 98% of what Ukraine needs for the offensive. Ukraine has to prove its ability first before getting more. Anyhow, the Russians have time to prepare and will knock out F16s, and that will be too costly a donation for the US. Russia has knocked out all the game changers the west supplied including Himars, Leopards and Bradleys, and Storm Shadows. The Ukranian offensive is a flop. The war is lost for the west.

@nick4819 NATO has not fought in Ukraine because it cannot stomach its forces being killed. Those who are afraid to die cannot win a war. For this reason, NATO cannot defeat Russia. If for one moment NATO thought it could win, it would have sent troops to Ukraine.

Well, Russia will have no shortage of goods. Americans also have chinese computers, chinese mobiles, chinese clothes etc etc .. and other cheap products from china. Russia produces other goods and it can pay for them. There will be Rouble-yuan trade bypassing dollar system. Western boycotts are ineffective and only weaken the dollar.

This nauseating British journalist should go and ask why Boris Johnson stopped Ukraine from reaching a settlement with Russia in Turkey. Now he knows Niu York will be in Russia, so what is the point of going and interviewing people with a smug air when you contributed to their plight ? Seems very condescending. NATO did not want to send troops to Ukraine even though it campaigned for its entry into NATO because NATO is averse to casualties. Those who are unwilling to die cannot win a war. That is the difference between NATO and Russia. Russia is not about to invade Europe. All it sought was to deny NATO bases in Ukraine to threaten Russia. Russia has achieved that objective and there is nothing NATO can do to evict Russia.

The alternative is the west tells Zelensky to be realistic and settle for neutrality. Ukraine is going to be hammered otherwise, the west put Ukraine in this position by pushing for NATO membership, and the west is not able to fight Russia directly because they will end up in the same position as Ukranians. Biden has said he cannot go for no fly zone, and BoJo is saying the same. The west can do that against Iraq, it cannot contemplate it against a nuclear power.

You made that comment because you are helpless and burning inside. Russia's punch is more severe than what the Afghans and Iraqis delivered. That is why you are scared to go into Ukraine, or put a no-fly zone. They can destroy you not only militarily but also your dollar based trade system.

'Russian casualties have been worse ....' they always add that after explaining Ukraine's position. It is not based on evidence. The only evidence he has is from the Ukrainian side. The Russians are firing 10 x the shells, thermobaric weapons, glide bombs..... Ukrainian casualties have to be higher.

@GordonDivine7 Britain has more enemies than Russia. They are plenty in the Middle East, Iraq, Palestine. Be realistic, and careful, you cannot match Russia. Russia can hit you in a big way, and the US will look the other way. Remember the Suez Crisis of 1956, when Britain invaded Egypt and the Soviet Union forced you out with the threat of a nuclear strike. So be careful.

So what is wrong with Putin using energy as a weapon ? No, BoJo is evading responsibility. Putin's war ? Whose idea was NATO expansion to Ukraine ? It was the US with its machinations under neocon Victoria Nulandm which led to a coup in 2014, with various Ukro Nazi groups like Right Sector and Azov Batallion taking part. Putin asked for a security peace treaty in Dec. 2021. The US refused. Did BoJo try to persuade the US to sign a peace treaty to avoid war ? Why not ? Who put sanctions and stole Russia's money ? Putin has never said he is going to put sanctions on gas supplies. Putin said he wanted payment in roubles - because the west had made the euro and dollar worthless for him. Otherwise, it would be like supplying gas free. After the war started, why has BoJo not been a mediator ? Erdogan has shown the way. Instead, BoJo wanted to be the leading hawk, making statements that Putin must not be allowed to win. He stated that we need to wean ourselves from Russian gas by December. Then why complain, this is the opportunity to wean yourself from Russian gas. Of course, BoJo went on 2 holidays in sunny Greece - alright for some. Was that due to Putin as well ?
