@vedser Ukraine certainly banned Russian men aged 16 to 60 from entering the country in 2018. Not sure if the ban has been lifted since. Russia, OTOH, never had a ban like that, and Ukrainian visitors, refugees, and Gastarbeiter can enter and — if they don't draw the regime's ire — leave the country as they please. Covid restrictions, of course, apply.

Russia has been Old-Testament homophobic since at least the time the fratricidal rapist St.Vladimir "The Great" Sviatoslavich forced Christianity on Rus's subjects. That is for 1000+ years. Consensual sex between adult males was a criminal offence in the USSR on the same level as rape.

@iihamed711 There were hardly any Jews in Poland until the very Late Middle Ages. And then while the Polish Crown found them instrumental in dealing with the populace in the eastern provinces, said populace were not happy at all about their new Crown-imposed neighbors. And then the Crown was gone, but the populace stayed.
