From my decades-long observations, Russian-Americans are mostly 1) religious and conservative or 2) non-religious and still conservative (but not fanatical enough to reject their "progressive/liberal" kids) or 3) when left of center, don't care about their Russianness much, if at all (that's usually the kids).

  5.  @misc.7659  FWIW, don't fixate too much on trying to find "your people" who are "yours" in every possible way. If you share some strong interest with somebody — and you're not revolting to each other — enjoy it. Things don't have to be all, as Russians say, "в одном флаконе".
