  1. Don't hold your breath. Wave, tidal and subsea currents have huge amounts of energy, but in very little time those forces and the hostile environment destroys equipment. There has been a lot of work on this for about the last 50 years and in truth there has been almost no progress because of this. And the "experts" wanting funding for it don't publicize this problem. It's just not going to happen at any scale to be meaningful in our lifetimes IMHO.

  2. Geothermal is a valid technology, but unfortunately its contribution is but a drop in the ocean on a global scale.
