  6. Honestly I don't think that Georgia has anything at all that the West wants, so they're not going to get any meaningful help from the West. When Georgia was part of the Soviet Union and later when under the Russian sphere of influence the West had reason to fuel Georgian independence, but now that has been achieved they're on their own.   9. Maybe if Russia collapsed, in which case why stop there. The Kamchatka peninsula has all the oil and gas which Japan would ever need. But that would be quite a gamble and Japan is cautious these days.

  13. Sorry, but no. The West has bigger concerns, namely stopping Russian expansion West and the coming war with China. These countries are buffer states between Russia, Turkey and Iran. They also sit at the border between two religions Christians to the north and Muslims to the south and this is the real problem with this region and one which has absolutely no solution ever unless you are utterly naïve. The best outcome may be for the people of Nagorno Karabkh (sp?) to flee to Armenia before the Azeris wipe them out. Currently the Azeris will allow that. This is undoubtedly a terrible thing for the people involved, but better than being dead. The prospect of any Armenians being allowed to live peacefully in Azerbaijan is unlikely and will probably trend to zero as time moves on. There's a good reason that so many Armenians have fled to the West over time. As for Armenia and Georgia in the long run they need a security guarantor and the only one who that I can see willing to be that is Russia, however Russia is currently busy. It's a very, very difficult place to live. Arguably the peoples of the region were better off under the Soviets and the Soviets were monsters. Sadly if I lived there I would leave and try to get to the West and a better life. Slava Ukraine. 🇺🇦🇬🇧

  14. Americans have a huge delusional blind spot when it comes to religions. The Founding Fathers came to America because they were persecuted for their religion so Americans say that all religions are good. They fail to appreciate that the Founding Fathers were religious extremist nut cases who today would be called a cult and shut down by the FBI. But they died off and their hero status remains. Give it time and when the USA experiences a home grown Isis or something similar and Americans may grow up, but I wouldn't hold my breath.   16.  @theimproooooooover  As far as that region is concerned Russia controls the northern mountain range (see the terrain map which Zeihan showed), so Russia has time on their side and can return any time they want. IE when they're not tied up with the war in Ukraine.

  17. Europe needs oil and gas from Azerbaijan. Armenia has nothing to offer the West. The USA is not able to do anything unless it puts troops on the ground and the useless war inAfghanistan put an end to the American public's appetite for dead US soldiers for something that ultimately doesn't benefit the USA.
