You forgot to mention obesity Peter. What percentage of the population don't fit the requirements because they can't fit through the door?

@dfgyuhdd Really?! Wow. Though now you come to mention it in ways I'm not actually that surprised. I'm in my late fifties and when I was at school there were a few pupils who were plain stupid (because back then we had something called honesty), but really really the percentage was less than 5% and that's ok because they got menial jobs which need done. Today in my child's class there are probably over 20% who have some condition. The rest are normal, actually the rest out perform which probably reflects better the education system, but of those who can't that's a 400 to 500% increase (at least!). This is in a middle class area and this class is not unique. Every class is about the same, between 20% to 25% of them have special needs. And before someone chimes in, it's definitely not because of over diagnosis, these kids have real problems. I know that when I was at school there were special needs schools which reduced the visible numbers, but not by much as I had experience of that personally and those schools concentrated on physical disabilities. I don't know what is happening, but it's kind of terrifying.

@ffarmchicken I'm not surprised. At the extreme, I know a family who's two children never go outside (literally: they don't go to school and maybe leave the house once every two weeks!) and they never do anything physical. Both are incredibly weak and one has developed childhood scoliosis (twisted spine). I'm sure that the other one will too. It's very sad.

@rhinoskin7550 The US military doesn't accept recruits with an IQ under 80, because below 80 they are only a liability.
