  1. 1. It was he who picked them up and brought them home. They immediately attached to the person who they saw first, 2. I bet that because she feeds them and cleans up after them, she tries harder to gain their affection and get their attention. This while the guy doesn't go after their affection, and instead has the cats come to him. cats are like toddlers. The period when you're doing everything for them but don't get anything back. They don't know that just because you Clean up after them and feed them that they need to repay you with love and affection. We have the same issue in our house. The cat technically belongs to my sister, but he doesn't like her at all. She's constantly trying to pick him up and getting him to sit on her lap etc. This whilst me and dad just respect his space, and provide him with petting and going for walks with him around the garden if and when he likes to. Cats don't attach to you through constant touching. And most of them don't like being picked up. Respect their space, pay attention to their wants and they'll really love your company. I and our cat have this routine where we go for a walk after midnight! We have a massive garden and gated drive, so he never has a want to go anywhere else. So at midnight, we both go walking around the garden, he stops and gets inquisitive about movements in the hedge and the dark, sometimes just stops to chill and then just following me as we walk around just purely for his entertainment.
