What this piece doesn't include is that the shoddy maintenance which as the gentleman described made the tyres wobble, also made the aircraft veer to one side and fail gain the speed it required for take-off without needing to go further down the runway. If that part had been maintained properly, the aircraft would've got up to speed in the required time and not hit the debris on the runway. The piece of debris on the runway was much further down the runway than a normal Concorde would've ventured prior to take-off. That piece was ultimately found in the Air France workshop. The debris on the runway was the direct cause of the crash along with the fire, but the real cause was shoddy maintenance. Saying that Concorde has tyre blowout issues throughout its existence. If I recall correctly, they ended up spending in excess of 200 million to try and fix the problem. But the problem was never truly fixed, air france was making a loss to keep the planes running whilst BA was only making a measly profit. Financially, it was never viable. It appealed to a very niche market and even today in 20021, most people wouldn't be able to afford to buy a ticket. An innovation that was borne out of the east vs west technology fight. The Russians beat the British and French by a few months when flying supersonic, but they realised quickly that the whole thing was not financially viable for charter / commercial flying. But whilst the plans were abandoned, Britain and France continued with theirs, and ultimately ending in catastrophic circumstances.
