  1. He doesn't get the attention and notoriety because it would've been easier to sell American heroes and 'western' heroes to people and kids in school. The same basically happens with Greta Thunderbird. There are thousands upon thousands of naturalists, conservationists and people who work to make the planet a cleaner place. But Greta's face is easier to sell to westerners and also sell the well sold 'white saviour' idea. She went to some convention and even the people photographing her and other young environmentalists ended up cutting out a black girl from the photo, because naturally it wouldn't have fit their narrative.
