The issue is not whether Chelsea could afford these players or not. The biggest issue is whether they'll be worth the gamble. Looking at the list of signings, literally every single one is overpaid for. Chelsea are paying inflated price tags for players who are nowhere near being readymade stars. For once in probably 30 years, they genuinely lack world class players.

@haitch04 thats just one transfer! My point is that they're paying ridiculous prices for players they hope will succeed! Fofana from leicester as an example! The guy has had multiple serious injuries and how much did chelsea pay for him? He cost more than seasoned ad proven players! Theyre desperate signings! Casadei from inter! Kid had never even got into the first team and chelsea paid twenty million! Hasn't been heard from since! They're gambles at premium prices!

@haitch04 where did i question his business acumen? You are comprehending what im saying completely wrong! Im saying that chelsea are playing overly inflated money for players who they hope will improve and become great players! Bar koulibaly, he hasn't signed established players! They're either youngsters who chelsea hope will become great or players like felix who come with a lot of promise but so far havent reached the heights expected!

@va3023 there is no risk in what Chelsea have done in the transfer market. They're spending money they have. the only gamble is on the players they're brought on becoming or not becoming established stars.
