This issue with the effigy though is not racism. Valencia fans did one of Ronaldo and Messi a little while back as well.

  26.  @donaldduck2756  there was a lot of furore when it happened to Beckham, but the media really didn't support him. The issue with Vinicius is that he was racially abused in the Atléti stadium a few months ago. Regardless, it is important to look at each issue on merit and not generalise. In this case, there was no racism. Still. I would much rather hear meaningless chants than see what happens in the UK, where the FA panel let people like John yems off despite being an actual racist. or police racially profiling sports people and handcuffing them for nothing in front of their children.

  30. @Javi Oz Because of Milan doing transfer deals with Atleti, I was lucky enough to visit the calderon many times going back to the days of Vieri, torres, Ibagaza etc. and also went to the Wanda last season for our champ league game. I have also been lucky to visit bernabeu, camp nou, mestalla, and the Betis stadium. 10 years ago I also went to see Compostela as my work friend is from there. All of this time and I never ever heard anyone being racist. of course all societies contain idiots and backward people, but to say that it is 'common' for spaniards to be racist is just laughable.
