the economy was based on hype and a real estate boom which was fake. When they have overbuilt housing to absorb even the whole of India, there's something wrong. And now the average mid-to-low levels of society are paying the price.

3 years of lock down and a failed / fake real estate market has depleted all live savings. There are lots of people who are forced to pay mortgages on houses that are incompleted and which will never be built. under those conditions, where is the money to spend?
