@keithsmith8331 not to mention the underground aquifers are not being replenished. Cities are themselves sinking. Surely that plays are role in earthquakes. Putting up dams and diverting water into the cities where water demand and industry is draining rivers / underground dry is never a good thing

@keithsmith8331 That's why free speech and freedom of the press is important. (And that's why you see Hong Kong being shut down and muted China Style). Every govt is incompetent / corrupt. It's just a matter of to what degree they're corrupt. With 'the west', at least the press is mostly able to expose them and so it's the lesser of both evils. Also with the rule changing hands every few years at least there's the illusion that sooner or later someone will pay the price for their wrong doings.
