The Ukraine borders were set up under the Soviet Union on the impression that the Soviet Union would last forever. The borders don't reflect reality it was a gift to the Ukraine to keep those people happy. Didn't work you can blame Stalin for that and the mess he created. Not our fight can't fix that mess.
