As a Latin American I think my comment is not really that relevant because most foreigners don't have much interest in visiting and much less living permanently in countries in this region. But let me say this, in most of Latin America a podcast like this would never fly, I mean if 4 random recently arrived foreigners started a podcast saying bad things about their host countries they would not be well received and I think that in a short time they would be physically removed from the country IoI So this strong reaction against criticism is not an exclusivity of Japan, and is even more extreme in other places, believe me. But if the person was already living in the country for 10 years and was already integrated in the society as "one of us", then I think that people would be much more open to accept any critical commentary. Just like that old rule, if you're one of us you can talk, if not, stay quiet.

@clpthegamer3129 Yep, I feel that if it was just a "life commentary" about the country in a fun and lighthearted way, it would be much more well received, and people would even like to hear a foreign perspective about things even if it has criticism, it really all depends on the tone used. My comment was based on my first impression that they were really just "shittalking" about their host country.
