  3. Not true, it's not because of sugar cane harvest, this are caused by arsonists and facilitated because of the very dry weather that plague the interior region in this period of the year. It's not related to burning the fields to harvest cane sugar. Actually some farmers have lost big chunks of their healthy cane sugar fields that were burned and had an economic loss. It's similar that what happened in the big Australian fires some years ago.
