Her father is brazilian and her stepmother is brazilian, and both spoke portuguese at home in AZ, also she has trained some years in Brazil and her current husband is brazilian and she has a daughter with him, she speaks portuguese with her daughter as you can see in the end of the video, most of her previous coaches spoke portuguese with her. So she was raised as a bilingual child with parents speaking portuguese at home and she's surrounded by brazilians in her fight career, it's not surprising at all that she developed an accent. And we cannot forget that she is literally half brazilian so the genetic part also has influence on how she sounds in english.

This whole accent thing is like a joke it should not be taken seriously 😂

Wow I never knew about this age gaps, I mean 8 years is significant for any sport even more for fighting, and if you consider that he's a know ped user this puts his record even in more doubt. I can understand why people are so mad about the UFC pushing him as the goat. Meanwhile Pereira has beaten 5 UFC champions in a 2 year timespan, 4 of them in the same age bracket and in their prime, but I don't see people saying that he's the goat. Also he don't use peds, as far as we know, and is already considered one of the all time greats in another combat sport.

Nah, as the guy said he has not stayed on top for long enough, also besides Conor the names the he fought were not that impressive, despite having a clean record. Also Conor himself even being amazing is a limited fighter in grappling, let's be honest. If you think about it even Pereira has already beaten more household names in a shorter time than Khabib, so no he can't be the goat. But yeah I also disagree with Jon Jones being the goat.

@DEEZVIC She was born in Arizona but her father and step mom are brazilian and they spoke portuguese at home, also her boyfriend is brazilian and she trains part time in Brazil, so I think it's easy for her to revert to a brazilian accent when speaking english.

@djbobby224 Actually the history of the translator is fake, she never requested a translator what happens is that the translator of the venue thought that she could not speak english because she was presented as a brazilian fighter, and the guy appeared in the interview to assist her but it was a misunderstanding of his part she never asked for it.

It's probably just genetics acting, just like some indian people that have lived in US for decades but still have an accent, she was born in Arizona but her father and step mom are brazilian and they spoke portuguese at home, also her boyfriend is brazilian and she trains part time in Brazil, so I think it's easy for her to revert to a brazilian accent when speaking english.

Shes is half brazilian half american, and her husband is brazilian, so I think she chose to represent Brazil because of her family.
2
Yep she is, she literally has brazilian nationality, her father is brazilian and her stepmother is brazilian, they spoke portuguese in the house as she grown up, her current husband is brazilian and she speaks portuguese with her daughter as you can see in the end of the interview. She is brazilian-american.

@mysticmac4244 Well what fighter says that himself is the goat? No one, even the most confident one, this is up to the fans and specialists to decide.

Man this is just genetics acting, she was born in Arizona but her father and step mom are brazilian and they spoke portuguese at home, also her husband is brazilian and she trains part time in Brazil, it's easy for her to revert to a brazilian accent when speaking english.

This guy is the philosopher of post fight interviews, among all the craziness he's sending solid message 😂 😂

@swaglad9728 She was not "american born and raised", her father is brazilian and her stepmother is brazilian, and both spoke portuguese at home, also she has trained some years in Brazil and her current husband is brazilian and she has a daughter with him, she speaks portuguese with her daughter as you can see in the end of the interview, most of her previous coaches spoke portuguese with her. This whole accent thing is like a joke it should not be taken seriously 😂

This is fair probably the best heavyweight? Giving his record probably yes, despite him ducking fighters which is shameful. But goat of the sport is debatable, for me Anderson Silva is a more complete fighter at his prime, also Aldo, GSP, Mighty Mouse, or even Pereira if he continues his winning streak.

Well Pereira has defeated 5 former or current UFC champions including fighters with already legendary status like Adesanya, in a 2 year timespan. This make him the goat of the sport?
