Think it was Sam’s Club who offered to restore headlights like new, lifetime warranty, and it only cost like $30. Best $30 you can spend.   51. In my experience, limited slip differentials work great. I’ve had them on several trucks and SUVs over the last 20 years. 99% of the time they’ll do exactly what you need and you don’t have to worry about breaking the axles either. They’re great for driving in the snow and on slippery roads. Lockers are great for some off-road applications (like rock crawlers), but LSD’s are perfect for a daily driver. It’s really the open differentials that suck! You basically just have one wheel spinning, which is terrible, especially if it’s a 2wd vehicle. It quickly becomes a one wheel drive, which is no good. The LSDs are tried and true and make a huge difference.

  96. I remember watching ‘Trucks’ tv show (I think that was the name) about 20 years ago and they added a propane booster system to a diesel truck and they were making some crazy power with it. It was almost like adding nitrous to a gasoline vehicle, except the tank was much bigger, could be used continuously (though was largely meant for towing uphill... and racing haha), and it didn’t tear up the engine. Funny how these things always come back around decades later.

  100. I just bought a 2500 Duramax last week. I went for white and prefer it to the black. It’s the LT (mid level trim) with the convenience package, so it has power driver seat, heated front seats and steering wheel, remote start, has the 5th wheel/gooseneck package, spray in bed liner, and a few more goodies. I paid $61k, so there are more affordable options. LTZ level is where the price goes way up. I definitely agree that the turning radius is not the best, but that 910 lb/ft of torque is amazing and always puts a smile on my face. Seeing the preview of the drag race, I’m not surprised that it blew the other trucks off the line. I’m a tall guy at 6’4” and this truck still seems massive to me. I’d still need a small step ladder to work on the engine haha 😆. Overall, I’ve been really happy with it. It’s a beast!! Another bonus is that I have the tan interior, which is pretty rare to find. It’s a sharp looking vehicle.

They’ll (all 3) do anything you want from them, within reason. If you break these tools, then you don’t know how to use them and probably have the wrong tool for the job. Those Tsunodas were really impressive. I would love to try those out.

Walmart always has the best price too, at around $25 for the 5 quart jug. It might have lost the comparison, but experience trumps a single test in my book. Grew up in the Midwest and we’d use 5W30 during the winter and 10W30 in the summer. That probably helped us out too. I did get $4,500 in rebates and saved another $500 since sales tax is lower in northern Nevada, so I basically paid msrp and got zero percent financing. This day and age, I really got a great deal, especially since it only had the options I wanted and nothing more. $61.5k isn’t bad for a Duramax Silverado LT with the convenience package (heated seats and steering wheel, remote start, power driver seat, bed liner, etc) and the 5th wheel/gooseneck package. Try finding it anywhere else for that. It took me 3 months and I got premium side steps with the accessory rebate. It’s definitely not a good time to buy a vehicle now. It’s a lot of looking and patience to find a decent price. I finally got what I wanted for the price I wanted after too long looking.

Worst was a Ford Escape I borrowed with a 12.5 gallon tank. You could barely drive 3.5 hours doing 80 (75 speed limit) on the highway. That’s some nonsense! I always shoot for at least a 400 mile highway range, especially since I prefer to fill up at 1/4 tank, and the Hyundai seems to deliver that. Tommy is just a big puss!

They show some minor wear, but still work great 👍. They’ve been used hard, but never torcher tested though. Never buy hand tools from Harbor Freight, they’re garbage. You’ll spend a lot of time and gas money to keep replacing them. That Lifetime warranty is meaningless... keep your receipt haha 😂.

  712. Very informative! Maybe it’s just the Shell station by my house, but I always get much worse gas mileage. It always drops by 1.5-2mpg. So why pay more for less fuel efficiency? Last couple vehicles, including my Benz get the best mileage from the cheaper gas stations. I still always use premium in the Benz and always get better gas mileage than it’s rated for. Imagine a 5,000 Suv getting 24.5 on the highway. It’s probably in my best interest to use a quality fuel additive every 2-3 tanks. Would probably do a better job and be less expensive. In fact, I’m heading to the garage now. Have some Lucas brand to add. After seeing his results, I’ll try the Seafoam brand next. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and God bless!

Came with drill, reciprocating saw, circular saw, and a work light. The original batteries lasted about 13 years. Yes, the DeWalt tools are more expensive, but they’ll just keep plugging away. Tools were something my dad never skimped on. I’m still using his Delta compound miter saw that he built my swing set with around 31 years ago. He paid a pretty penny for it (over $500 in 1990), but it still cuts through wood like a hot knife through warm butter. I’ve heard DeWalt quality isn’t the same anymore, but I love mine. For a chainsaw, I have a 21 year old Lumberjack brand 14” electric plug-in. It’s always been great and still does the job. A great investment for $45. I need to buy a chain sharpener for it though. Ah, so many great memories 😃

  819. Just bought a Polaris 2004 Magnum 330 this summer for $1,100. 18 years old, 2wd, nothing fancy at all, but I would tear that course up as well as your $18k unit.... I’d just be a little slower haha (and probably a winch from Tommy’s Demise also). I had to replace the original tires, but that was only $300 since I ordered them online and a good friend had the tool for us to do it together. It’s going to need some basic maintenance still ($250-300), but you can’t beat it for the money. I’d love to come up next summer and give it a go.   885. I like my Lansky Puck sharpening stone. $7.50 and I can get the knife so sharp it slices through paper and can actually remove the hair off my arm. Downside is that there is a learning curve and it is more time consuming. Plus side is the versatility. I can use it on any edge... lawnmower blades, axes, etc. it’s also going to last for decades and can fit in your pocket, so very easy to carry around.

If you ever see me use 4WD, you better believe it’s because I really need it. I also grew up in the Midwest and learned to drive a fwd car in 5-6 inches of snow early on. My Goodyear Eagles handled like it was on rails... not the ones in Ohio lol 😂.. probably too soon. I’ve always liked the BFG’s though and for Colorado, I’d sacrifice the handling for better winter weather driving.

The oil still looked so clean, I almost kicked myself for not going to 18 months. But I figured better safe than sorry and now I know. Going to look for your review of Mobil 1 synthetic now. My dad used it since I was a kid and 30 years later, it’s what I use. In 30+ years, we’ve never had one engine problem. Again, I love the videos and awesome information.

Added a 300psi rated hose (think it’s 25 feet) for $30, and an attachment kit for $20. $150 total and it fills up my tires in 60-90 seconds. It’s definitely faster than these pos’s. Why not just get a 12v compressor that plugs into the cigarette lighter?? They’re $20, cheap, and break, but it’s easier and cheaper to carry 2 of those..

Ive actually made money on them before when I sold them. Right now I have a Mercedes (2015) ML350 I bought just over 3 years old, 31,750 miles, was in perfect condition, and cost $29k. I saved 45% versus new and still came with the factory warranty on it. 2.5 years later and it’s still running perfectly. It’s surprisingly easy to work on and I’ve only done basic maintenance... brake pads, oil, and air filter. I never expected to own a Benz, but it was the best vehicle for the price at the time I was looking. It’s quick too 😀... 302hp w/ a 7spd auto. 0-60 in 6.3 and still gets 24mpg on the highway. Love that thing. Be smart, look around, do some research, and take your time. My best advice for you.

  1092. The porch rooftop is such a great addition and something you really needed. I’v built some similar things, but definitely lack your knowledge and experience. Without a steeped angle, I personally would have put the truces 16’ on center instead of the 24’ it appears you did. I also would have added one more super beam in the front (3 instead of 4) for extra strength. That’s me though, and I always overbuild stuff. I hope everything holds up well when there’s 2 feet of snow on top of it. It looks great and is exactly what you guys needed. Now you don’t have to shovel the porch, you have a great place to sit, hang out, and grill. It also gives you lots of place for firewood. And it still has potential, such as screening it in and staying away from bugs, and can serve as a mud room. Well done 👍

Just curious why you don’t build a storage shed and have a separate bath house/sauna? I would think you’d be storing stuff that you wouldn’t want exposed to all the humidity. It shouldn’t be too difficult to build two 8x8’s, especially since the storage space won’t need the finishing touches on the inside. Just wondering if you thought of that, sure you have. I would go with your idea of doing that. Better to have it and not need it than need and not have it. It was a really good school and my degree cost me $8,000 in total. I worked while in college, was able to pay for school as I went, and had NO student loans. Just this August, I made around $8,450 in four weeks with working extra shifts and overtime (my best month ever). My education was actually a great investment and I’m always glad I made the choice I did. I don’t have some worthless $200k degree in liberal arts that I can’t pay back. Us taxpayers shouldn’t have to foot the bill for other people’s poor decisions. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. Also, I’m not trying to brag. I’m trying to make people aware that you can get an education without spending massive amounts of money. I’ve always been a big fan of trade schools as well. Plumbers, electricians, mechanics, and the like tend to do very well. You don’t need an expensive degree to make a good living.

  1204. What??? $26/hr minimum wage... sh!t, I’ll just take a part time job at a fast food restaurant. Would definitely make less, but would definitely be less stressful than being a nurse. 2 8hr shifts would bring over $400 a week. I can live one that.
